Apparently half the league is in on free agent Emaka Okafor, hoping for a come-up on a bargain veteran rim protector.

The report comes via Marc Stein of ESPN, who notes that "roughly half of the league... has registered interest this summer in Okafor."

The list includes the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Miami Heat, Stein notes. The report also indicates that Okafor is still recovering from a herniated disk and is unlikely to sign with a team until midseason.

Okafor missed the entirety of the 2013-14 season recovering from a neck injury. The season prior to his injury, Okafor averaged 9.7 points and 8.8 rebounds per game as a member of the Washington Wizards.

When healthy, Okafor is an solid presence in the paint. He boasts a career average of 1.7 blocks per game, and is a disciplined defender. But of course, health is an issue, hence why he remains without a contract going forward.
