GIF: David Ortiz's home run celebration angers Rays

The Tampa Bay Rays and Boston Red Sox are at the bottom of the American League East, but the way they play each other you would think they're competing for a pennant.

It's been playoff intensity all season long between the two clubs, and tempers flared up again Sunday at Tropicana Field.

Red Sox designater hitter David Ortiz's three-run homer in the first inning helped snap the Rays' nine-game winning streak and apparently hurt their feelings in the process.

Ortiz' bat flip and subsequent trot irked Rays right-hander Chris Archer, who had some choice words for the slugger after the game.

While Ortiz responded with authority to Rays lefty David Price following their dust up in May, the 25-year-old Archer apparently wasn't worth his time.

The two clubs meet next in Tampa Bay for a four-game set beginning Aug. 29.
