The Detroit Pistons are looking to add a little toughness on the wing, it seems, and as such they've reached out to the man they call Tough Juice, Caron Butler.

Butler and the Pistons are "on the brink" of a two-year, $9 million agreement, according to ESPN's Marc Stein, while the Detroit News reports that it will be a one-year deal with a team option for a second season. The second year option means Butler could be an attractive trade chip at a later juncture if things don't work out in the Motor City.

This past offseason, Butler was traded from Phoenix to Milwaukee in what was expected to be a nice homecoming for the Wisconsin native. Instead, he was waived in late February and closed out the season with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Over 56 games in total, Butler averaged 10.5 points and 4.1 rebounds while shooting 39.4 percent from long range. Initially not a strong 3-point shooter, Butler has become quite the marksman over the past four seasons, shooting 38.6 percent from downtown. The Pistons have a clear edict to add more shooting, evidenced by the signings of D.J. Augustin and Jodie Meeks, which only makes sense under new coach Stan Van Gundy.
