Rip Hamilton heading to Brazil for World Cup; offers Clint Dempsey a face mask

Former NBA shooting guard Richard "Rip" Hamilton's basketball career is best remembered or his prolonged use of a face mask. On Wednesday, Hamilton was making his way out to Brazil to catch some World Cup matches, and posted a photo to Instagram, offering his assistance to the U.S. men's national soccer team.

With team captain Clint Dempsey having sustained a broken nose in Monday's match against Ghana, Hamilton feels he can lend some assistance, offering to allow Dempsey to borrow one of his face masks.

The photo included this message:

On my way to Brazil to watch @clint_dempsey and Team USA at World Cup . @clint_dempsey if u need to borrow my mask I'm bringing them in my carry on bag. #MaskChangedMyCareer #TeamUSA #WorldCup#BrandJordan #BrazilPack #HugeFanOfSoccer #holdat

The kick to the face Dempsey received was pretty serious as it broke his nose. He's still expected to suit up in Sunday's match against Portugal, though, after taking a hit like this, he may want to consider Hamilton's offer.
