The Stars were generally a veteran team, although young players like Jamie Oleksiak and Brett Ritchie played starring roles for the Dallas Stars' American Hockey League affiliate. Perhaps the most NHL-ready prospect for the Stars though is head coach Willie Desjardins, who is considered a front runner for the Vancouver Canucks head coaching job

Stars general manager Jim Nill has made it clear that the club won't stand in the way if any NHL clubs ask to interview Desjardins, which they'll likely do shortly now that the Calder Cup playoffs have ended.
