Jerebko will opt into the final year of the four-year deal he signed with the Pistons in 2011 and stay with the team through the 2014-15 season, the Detroit Free Press reports.

Analysis:

Jerebko will earn $4.5 million in his sixth season in the league. He hired a new agent and was open to a trade after last season, but the hiring of coach Stan Van Gundy has him hopeful for next season. After dealing with an Achilles injury and rocky relationships with previous coaches, Jerebko believes Van Gundy can use his size and outside shooting to help him return to a similar level of success that he had in his rookie season. Jerebko shot a career-high 42 percent from beyond the three-point line last season, after shooting just 30 percent in his first four seasons in the NBA. If he can shoot that efficiently next season, it's possible that Van Gundy could find a way to make him a regular part of the rotation.
