According to a report from Chris Hayes of Comcast Sports, the Detroit Pistons will interview the league's former executive vice president Stu Jackson in hopes of filling their GM vacancy.

His report indicates that Jackson's interview will take place shortly after the Memorial Day Weekend.

Jackson has served many roles with respect to the NBA across the better part of the past two decades. He coached the New York Knicks for a brief stretch in the early nineties. He also served as the Grizzlies' general manager for a few seasons, before the franchise moved from Vancouver to Memphis.

In 2007, Jackson was hired by the league to serve as the Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations, where he was responsible for penalizing players for on-court misconduct. He stepped down from his role with the league in 2013.

Jackson's experience with the NBA in various capacities should endear him to Pistons  President Stan Van Gundy, who previously stated that he would only be interested in a GM with prior experience for Detroit's current vacancy.
