The Colorado Avalanche have signed forward Marc-Andre Cliche to a two-year contract extension through the 2015-16 season, according to the team's official website. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Cliche was claimed off waivers from the Los Angeles Kings back in September, and has recorded one goal and five assists in 53 games this season.

“Marc-Andre has been a solid addition to our hockey club,” said Avalanche Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations Joe Sakic. “He has done a tremendous job on the penalty kill, has a great work ethic, and we’re excited to have him under contract for the next two years.”

Cliche was originally drafted by the New York Rangers in the second round of the 2005 Entry Draft.
