Stuttgart's Kvist joins Fulham on loan

BERLIN, Jan 30, 2014 - Denmark midfielder William Kvist has joined Premier League side Fulham on loan until the end of the season with an option to buy, his Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart said Thursday.

The 28-year-old has not been involved in any of Stuttgart's last three games and lost his first-team place over the winter break having joined Stuttgart in 2011.

"He isn't a regular player for us at the moment and as a Danish international, he needs to be playing," said Stuttgart coach Thomas Schneider.

Neither club has revealed the details of the transfer, but Fulham have a purchase option of around 1.5 million euros (US$2m) at the end of the loan deal for Kvist, who has made 44 appearances for Denmark.

Defender Cristian Molinaro, 30, has also left Stuttgart with the twice-capped Italy international having signed for FC Parma having made just a single Bundesliga appearance this season.

"Cristiano's transfer to his home country is a good solution for both sides," said Stuttgart's director of sport Fredi Bobic.

"He didn't manage to win a place in the squad with us lately and we wish him all the best."
