At 34 years old, Butler is the oldest Pacer, and will look to provide the squad with veteran leadership in the locker room. Coach Frank Vogel wants him to stay ready to play in case the team needs to use him for small forward depth, but it is unlikely Butler will receive many meaningful minutes. However, if he remains on the roster until January 10th, his contract will become guaranteed for the rest of the season.
