Knicks officially announce cuts, Murry, Smith and Aldrich on team

A lot of mixed signals in Knicks-land today, as conflicting reports have emerged about who the New York Knicks are cutting and keeping.

However, the team's official media relations twitter account clears things up:

That means that Toure' Murry, Cole Aldrich and Chris Smith have all made the team (or at least survived for now - the Knicks don't have to submit a final roster until Monday).

Aldrich had been reported as a cut earlier, and it was thought one of Jeremy Tyler or Chris Douglas-Roberts would make the team. Ike Diogu, Josh Powell and C.J. Leslie were expected cuts.

Murry definitely earned his spot, averaging 10.2 points in five preseason games and generally impressing following a development year in the D-League.

Some will question Smith's placement, however, as he is the brother of J.R. Smith.
