Inter striker Milito to miss one month with thigh strain

Inter Milan will be without striker Diego Milito for one month after the Argentine suffered a left thigh strain during a training session on Wednesday.

The injury is a bitter blow for the 34-year-old, who had just battled back from a seven-month stint on the sidelines after suffering a cruciate ligament injury in his left knee last season.

“It’s terrible timing,” manager Walter Mazzarri told Tuttosport, via Football Italia.

“It’s terrible timing. Just this week during the break for international duty we were going to increase his work rate in training.

“Diego is a player who changes the balance of a game. He is a top player, the kind that’s difficult to find nowadays.”

Milito had scored twice since his return, with both goals coming in Inter's 7-0 rout of Sassuolo in early September.
