Report: Clippers may invite G Gilbert Arenas to training camp

These are tough economic times. Millions of Americans are looking for work, including guard Gilbert Arenas, who last played in the NBA in 2011-2012 with the Memphis Grizzlies, and who could end up at Clippers training camp:

The Clippers have 13 players under guaranteed contracts for the coming season, according to Hoops World.

Arenas, 31, averaged only 4.2 points, 1.1 assists, and 1.1 rebounds in 17 games with Memphis in 2011-2012. It's been a steep decline for Arenas, who at his peak in 2005-2006 averaged 29.5 points on 45 percent shooting for the Washington Wizards.

Arenas played in Shanghai, China last season, and was by all accounts content. But the lure of the NBA has proven strong, and perhaps there's a fit on the Clippers' bench for Arenas, under new head coach Doc Rivers.
