Richard Hamilton: Days With Bulls Numbered

Hamilton will be waived by the Bulls before the July 10 deadline, when his contract for the 2013-2014 season would become guaranteed, CBS reports.

Hamilton's imminent departure is not a surprise due to his lack of productivity in both of his seasons in Chicago. He was able to play more games this season, improving from 28 games played in 2011-2012 to 50 games played this past season; however, his production per game actually decreased with more games played. Hamilton's scoring dropped from 11.6 points per game in 2011-2012 to 9.8 this past season, and his three-point percentage took a similar downturn from 37 percent to 30.8 percent. The Bulls added depth at shooting guard in the draft with Tony Snell, who will fill in for Hamilton's role as a catch-and-shoot threat. They also added Mike Dunleavy in free agency to provide scoring help, making Hamilton's place on the roster a redundancy.
