Gobert: It'd be nice if refs allowed us to do the same things as Clippers

Rudy Gobert doesn't feel his Utah Jazz have been getting the benefit of the whistle in their first-round series against the Los Angeles Clippers, and thinks that's taken the Jazz away from what they do best.

"When we try to get physical, we get fouls called, so we can't really get physical," Gobert told reporters Friday after the Clippers knotted the series at three games apiece, according to Ben Dowsett of Basketball Insiders.

Gobert specifically pointed to an incongruence in the way he's been officiated in the series compared to the treatment his positional counterpart, Clippers center DeAndre Jordan, has gotten.

"I try to do what DeAndre does," Gobert said. "It'd be nice if we were allowed to do the same things."

Context is obviously important, but it's worth noting that the Clippers were whistled for four more fouls than the Jazz were in Game 6, and shot seven fewer free throws. In the three games Gobert has played in the series, he's picked up nine fouls. In those same games, Jordan has been hit with 12.
