Watch: Holliday's walk-off HR in 10th caps epic Yankees comeback

Brad Penner / USA TODAY Sports

Start spreading the news: the New York Yankees are, like, kind of good.

Mired in an eight-run deficit in the sixth inning Friday against the Baltimore Orioles, the Yankees refused to relent, cobbling together an epic comeback - capped by Starlin Castro's game-tying home run in the bottom of the ninth - and escaping with a most improbable 14-11 victory in the Bronx on Matt Holliday's walk-off, three-run bomb in the 10th inning.

At 14-7, the Yankees are now tied with Baltimore atop the American League East following the victory, their first in a game wherein they trailed by at least eight runs since shocking the Boston Red Sox with a come-from-behind, 15-9 win on April 21, 2012.

Holliday's heroic blast, meanwhile, was the third walk-off homer of his career, and, coincidentally, came one day before the 10-year anniversary of his first ever walk-off bomb.
