Mere hours away from the 2017 NFL Draft, Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett remains the favorite to be selected first overall by the Cleveland Browns, according to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Although North Carolina quarterback Mitch Trubisky's name has gained traction as a possible candidate to go No. 1 on Thursday night, Cabot reports the Browns remain in position to take Garrett with their first pick and are working to move up from their 12th overall pick in order to secure Trubisky.

Browns VP of football operations Sashi Brown informed NFL Network's Mike Silver on Wednesday that the team has been set on who it will take No. 1 for two weeks and only a handful of people are in the know on the selection.

The Browns have been in contact with 27 teams about a potential trade of draft slots, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
