Ohio State's added another top recruit to its incredible class of 2018, as four-star cornerback Sevyn Banks committed to the Buckeyes this week.

The Florida native took an official visit to Columbus for the Buckeyes' spring game April 15, and decided to head north instead of staying closer to home.

"Coach (Kerry) Coombs and coach (Tony) Alford, they were real excited when I told them I committed," Banks told Blake Alderman of 247 Sports. "They were surprised and didn't think I wanted to commit there."

Banks is the ninth player head coach Urban Meyer has secured for the class of 2018, all of them ranked in the ESPN 300 and receiving at least a four-star grade. Banks, who is coming off a torn ACL, is listed as the 12th-best cornerback in the country.

The 6-foot, 180-pounder should help Meyer fill the void left by standout cornerbacks Marshon Lattimore and Gareon Conley. The duo declared for the 2017 NFL Draft.
