Jalen Hurts keeps Clemson national title photo on his phone for motivation

It's been almost five months since Clemson knocked off Alabama to win the national championship, but Jalen Hurts isn't about to let himself forget the pain of defeat.

The soon-to-be sophomore quarterback for the Crimson Tide told Michael Casagrande of Al.com after Alabama's spring game on Saturday that he keeps a picture of the Tigers hoisting the CFP trophy saved as his background photo on his smartphone.

"We're obviously all on our phones all the time," Hurts said. "Every time I unlock it, it's kind of a reminder. It kind of humbles me and keeps me motivated.

"It's not a grudge at all. It's just something that keeps it on the back of your shoulder like, yeah, it's still there. Remember why you're doing it because at the end of the day, the goal for this team is to win the national championship."

The Crimson Tide are expected to be right back in the national title hunt this coming season, while Clemson will have some retooling to do in the wake of key departures, including Heisman Trophy finalist Deshaun Watson.
