Watch: Dee 'Flash' Gordon hits Little League HR to give Marlins lead

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

Dee Gordon certainly lived up to his nickname on Saturday night in San Diego.

The speedy Miami Marlins second baseman, known by his teammates as "Flash," hit a Little League home run against the San Diego Padres, accomplishing the rare feat on his 29th birthday.

A Little League home run occurs when a player takes advantage of an opposing team's mistakes, leading to said player rounding the bases and making it home.

Unfortunately for the Padres, the defensive miscues committed by reliever Jose Torres and outfielder Hunter Renfroe allowed Justin Bour to score to give the Marlins the lead, followed by Gordon himself. The Marlins would go on to win the game 6-3 in 11 innings.
