Tom Herman scored his first win as Texas coach in the Red River Rivalry with Oklahoma on Saturday, as four-star quarterback Cameron Rising flipped his commitment from the Sooners to the Longhorns.

"I want to be part of building something special, something historic, and know that Texas is the place for me," Rising said on Twitter. "I truly believe Coach Herman will bring Texas back to the elite status program it is."

The recruit is rated the 12th-best pocket-passing quarterback in the 2018 class by ESPN, and was the third-highest commit in Oklahoma's class before announcing his transfer.

Rising's decision will surely catch the eye of four-star dual-threat quarterback Casey Thompson, as the 6-foot Oklahoma native committed to Texas two weeks ago.

Herman showed during his time as offensive coordinator with Ohio State that he can develop more than one quarterback at a time, and it appears he's hoping to replicate that at Texas.
