Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr missed Saturday's Game 3 matchup with the Portland Trail Blazers due to illness, the team announced.

Assistant Mike Brown served as acting head coach in Kerr's absence. The 47-year-old is no stranger to the head coaching position, having spent 563 games as the bench boss for the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers from 2005-14.

Kerr helped the Warriors jump out to a 2-0 series lead in their first-round matchup following back-to-back victories at Oracle Arena.
