Vince Wilfork has likely played his last down in the NFL, according to Houston Texans general manager Rick Smith.

Wilfork hinted at retirement in January, telling reporters he left his "soul on the field" during his 13-year career.

Although he hasn't officially announced his decision, Smith is guessing the five-time Pro Bowler won't return for the 2017 campaign.

"I haven't spoken to Vince Wilfork since last season," Smith said Friday, according to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. "My expectation is that Vince is not playing anymore."

Wilfork signed a two-year contract with the Texans in March 2015 after spending the first 11 years of his career with the Patriots. During his tenure in New England, he won two Super Bowls and was an integral part of the team's front seven.
