Upon his unveiling as the new athletic director at Kansas State on Monday, Gene Taylor said he isn't contemplating a succession plan for head coach Bill Snyder.

Snyder, 77, is headed into the ninth season of his second stint with the Wildcats and, in addition to his advanced age, has been undergoing treatment for throat cancer - reportedly since the end of the 2016 season.

"Haven't thought about it yet," Taylor said of Snyder's eventual replacement, according to Kellis Robinett of the Wichita Eagle. "I just look forward to working with him."

Snyder's treatments limited his visibility at team facilities through the early portion of the offseason, but they aren't expected to keep him off the sidelines come the new campaign.

Snyder boasts a career record of 202-105-1, and is the face of the university's football program.

"Some day you'll have to replace him but I don't want to think about that yet," Taylor added, according to Pete Mundo of Heartland College Sports.

Kansas State is set to play its spring game Saturday.
