Saints address major need with top CB talent Marshon Lattimore

Brian Spurlock / USA TODAY Sports

The early portion of the 2017 NFL Draft couldn't have gone much better for a certain NFC South team looking to get back into Super Bowl contention.

After an early run on offensive players, the New Orleans Saints selected cornerback Marshon Lattimore out of Ohio State with the 11th overall pick.

Lattimore falling out of the top 10 and right into the Saints' laps is an ideal scenario for a team that needed an upgrade in the defensive backfield in the worst way.

Presumably stepping into the starting lineup alongside Delvin Breaux, he'll bolster a pass defense that finished the 2016 season having allowed an NFL-worst 274 yards per game.
