Former Duke QB Thomas Sirk to transfer to East Carolina
Mark Dolejs-USA TODAY Sports
Thomas Sirk will play his final year at East Carolina.
The former Duke quarterback announced Friday he will be transferring to the Pirates. Sirk threw for 19 touchdowns and nearly 2,700 yards in 2015 for the Blue Devils, but missed all of 2016 after tearing his Achilles.
Sirk initially suffered the injury last February, then suffered a partial re-tear during an August practice. It was the third time he'd injured his Achilles tendon since 2013.
Daniel Jones stepped in for Sirk and had a strong campaign in 2016, throwing 16 touchdowns and more than 2,800 yards.
