Watch: Mississippi State ends UConn's 111-game win streak on OT buzzer-beater
UConn lost.
Yup, you read that correctly. Mississippi State ended the Huskies' 111-game winning streak Friday at the women's Final Four on a buzzer-beater in overtime from 5-foot-5 guard Morgan William.
It's the first time UConn has lost since Nov. 17, 2014. The Huskies have now dropped six straight games in overtime, and they haven't won a game that went past regulation since 2004.
UConn's Gabby Williams sent the game to OT by blocking a game-winning attempt from the Bulldogs' eventual hero at the end of regulation.
The Bulldogs grabbed the lead early in the additional frame, but the Huskies tied it up on an egregious flagrant foul call that went against Mississippi State.
Last year, Mississippi State lost to UConn by 60 points in the Sweet 16. The Bulldogs will meet South Carolina for the NCAA championship Sunday.
