Bengals owner gives Jones full support: 'Maybe I am overly tolerant'

Troy Taormina / USA TODAY Sports

Cincinnati Bengals owner Mike Brown is giving cornerback Adam Jones his full support despite Jones' recent arrest on charges including assault and disorderly conduct.

"Maybe I am overly tolerant. If so, so be it," Brown said, according to Paul Dehner Jr. of The Cincinnati Enquirer.

Jones posted a message to Twitter expressing his gratitude for Brown's support.

The Bengals are known as a team that's willing to sign players with past transgressions. That certainly describes Jones.

Though Jones has mostly stayed out of trouble since joining the Bengals in 2010, the player formerly known as Pacman was arrested in January after allegedly pushing a security guard and poking him in the eye.

Jones is also alleged to have spit on a nurse and only recently learned he won't be charged with a felony for it.

Jones still faces multiple misdemeanor charges.
