Minnesota Vikings safety Harrison Smith is recovering from offseason surgery to repair a high ankle sprain, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler and Ben Goessling report, citing sources.
Smith suffered a severe sprain in Week 13, but returned to play Weeks 16 and 17. He recorded his two lowest tackle totals of the season in those weeks.
Smith is reportedly expected to be cleared to resume practicing by training camp.
