Ohio State's Browning to miss spring with shoulder injury

Ohio State will be down a linebacker this spring.

Buckeyes freshman Baron Browning will miss spring practices with a shoulder injury, head coach Urban Meyer confirmed to Austin Ward of ESPN. He's expected to undergo surgery Tuesday.

"He reinjured his shoulder," Meyer said. "I guess he hurt it a little bit in high school. ... He'll be out for a couple months and be full speed for the fall."

Meyer added that Browning could see the field as a true freshman this fall if he is healthy.

"I don't want to get into too much detail, because I'm not exactly sure until they get it figured out," Meyer said. "They're saying he'll be 100 percent by June. As of now, he'll play this fall - because of the way he's been doing (in practice), too."

The incoming freshman is a four-star recruit that ranked second at his position and 26th on the ESPN 300.
