Watch: Tebow strikes out on 3 straight Max Scherzer fastballs

Jasen Vinlove / USA TODAY Sports

Just a bit over-matched.

New York Mets outfielder Tim Tebow faced his toughest opponent to date as he stepped in against former two-time Cy Young winner Max Scherzer. It went about how one might expect. Three fastballs - one at 96 mph followed by two at 97 - two swings, three strikes, one out.

Tebow struck out in his second at-bat as well, but he did take a ball. He is set to report to the Single-A Mets affiliate Columbia Fireflies to start the regular season.
