3 players with the easiest roads to the WGC-Match Play crown

Erich Schlegel-USA TODAY Sports

Dustin Johnson

Johnson is cruising this week, posting a perfect 3-0-0 record and hasn't played beyond the 16th hole. Jimmy Walker went 6-under par over an eight-hole stretch Friday, but was able to win just two holes against Johnson. The world No. 1 player only has two players with more than one PGA Tour victory, Bubba Watson and his Saturday morning opponent, Zach Johnson.

Phil Mickelson

The opening hole Wednesday against Si Woo Kim was the last time Mickelson didn't have at least 1-up next to his name on the leaderboard. Lefty has led in 41 of 42 holes he's played over the last three days, and doesn't have any real threat until the possible semifinals.

Jon Rahm

Mickelson's threat would be Jon Rahm, who destroyed countryman Sergio Garcia on Friday to win the group. Rahm faces Charles Howell III on Saturday, then the winner of William McGirt and Soren Kjeldsen, should he beat Howell. The young Spaniard has trailed just once this week, on the first hole Wednesday against Kevin Chappell.
