Report: 49ers to host Buccaneers RFA Jacquies Smith

The San Francisco 49ers will host Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive end Jacquies Smith on a free-agent visit, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports, citing a source.

Smith is eligible to make the visit because he is a restricted free agent. The Buccaneers gave Smith an original-round tender earlier this month. It's worth $1.797 million and entitles the Buccaneers to no compensation if Smith signs elsewhere and the Buccaneers opt not to match.

Smith made 13.5 sacks in 2014-15, but played in only one game last season because of a torn ACL suffered in Week 1.
