Warriors' Barnes: 'I'm trying to kill' Kings

Matt Barnes won't hold back when the Golden State Warriors host the Sacramento Kings on Friday night.

The Warriors forward hasn't forgiven the Kings for waiving him last month, and plans to take out his frustrations in Friday's battle.

"I'm trying to kill them," Barnes told reporters, according to ESPN. "Plain and simple. Things didn't go well there."

"They're the enemy now," he added.

The 37-year-old was waived by Sacramento in February to open up a roster spot to complete the DeMarcus Cousins trade. Barnes found a new home a couple weeks later, signing with the Warriors for the remainder of the season.

"It was frustrating because being back home and really taking pride in trying to put that team back on the map, and then just in a day's time you're no longer a part of the organization," he said. "So it was kind of a rude awakening."

While he was originally signed by the Kings for his veteran leadership, Barnes ultimately became a distraction in Sacramento. He's facing misdemeanor assault charges after he was accused of choking a woman and punching a man in a New York nightclub back in December.

The 13-year veteran is averaging 7.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.7 assists in 65 games this season.
