The last time North Carolina and Kentucky played each other, it turned out to be arguably the best game of the 2016-17 regular season, a wild 103-100 Wildcats victory.

Sunday, the two programs with a combined 13 national championships and 38 all-time meetings, will square off in the Elite Eight with a berth to the Final Four on the line and a chance to remake the magic from their first meeting in December.

In case you forgot, here are the biggest highlights from that first meeting.

Malik Monk becomes a household name

Kentucky star freshman Malik Monk was already averaging an eye popping 19.4 points heading into the Wildcats' game against the Tar Heels, however, he more than doubled that output that Saturday.

Monk set a Kentucky freshman record with 47 points, the second-most ever scored on the Tar Heels, while also hitting the go-ahead 3-pointer with just over 10 seconds remaining in the game.

Justin Jackson was no slouch, either

North Carolina's Justin Jackson was named ACC Player of the Year and he got his campaign going early, as he scored 34 points and shot 10-of-17 from the field. Rallying the Tar Heels, who trailed from the 14:17 mark of the first half, until Jackson single-handedly put North Carolina ahead twice late in the second half.

However, Berry returned to the lineup, exploding for 23 points on 9-of-15 shooting, while adding seven assists before fouling out.

De'Aaron Fox cashes in double-double

Monk may have stolen the spotlight, while Jackson put up a formidable fight, however, Wildcats point guard De'Aaron Fox also had a strong game.

Combined with Monk, the two freshman scored 71 of the Wildcats' 103 points, or just under 70 percent.
