Verlander uses wrong flag in tweet celebrating USA win

Justin Verlander got the wrong red, white, and blue.
In an attempt to show his support for fellow American right-hander Marcus Stroman, who lost a no-hitter in the seventh inning of the World Baseball Classic final against Puerto Rico, Verlander tried to insert a U.S. flag in his tweet, but missed the mark slightly:
For the geographically unaware, that isn't a bite-sized form of Old Glory, but actually the flag of Liberia, a country located nearly halfway across the world, in western Africa.
Verlander quickly rectified his embarrassing typo ...
... before saying he has no problem with the previous country:
