Rutgers' Sanders declares for NBA draft, won't hire agent

Anthony Gruppuso-USA TODAY Sports

Corey Sanders' days at Rutgers could be over, as the Scarlet Knights' leading scorer has declared for the 2017 NBA Draft without signing an agent, according to Jon Rothstein of FanRag Sports, citing a release.

Because he didn't sign with an agent, Sanders retains his ability to return to Rutgers if he feels he won't hear his name called on draft day.

As a sophomore, Sanders led the team with 12.8 points, along with 3.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists over 30.4 minutes. The production was a slight downgrade from his freshman campaign when he averaged 15.9 points over 33.4 minutes in 2015-16.
