Oklahoma State's Evans declares for draft, will sign with agent

Rob Ferguson-USA TODAY Sports

Jawun Evans' collegiate career is over.

The Oklahoma State guard is declaring for the NBA draft and will hire an agent, reports Jon Rothstein of FanRag Sports. By hiring an agent, Evans won't have the luxury of returning to the Cowboys later in the spring if he doesn't like his draft prospects.

Evans confirmed the news shortly after to Jeff Goodman of ESPN.

"I am going to enter the 2017 NBA Draft," Evans said. "I want to thank everyone at OSU. This was a tough decision. OSU will forever be in my heart."

As a sophomore, Evans scored 19.2 points per game and added 6.4 assists for Oklahoma State. He's currently tabbed as an early second-round pick by some.

Any hopes of Evans returning for his junior year were likely dashed when head coach Brad Underwood left for Illinois shortly after the Cowboys were ousted from the NCAA tournament.
