It's starting to look like Texas A&M could have a formidable roster next season.

Aggies forward Robert Williams will return for his sophomore campaign, the team announced Tuesday. Texas A&M is also reportedly getting fellow forward DJ Hogg back next year.

"Although I've grown, I still feel like I would benefit from another year of college," Williams said. "This will give me more time to mature and develop my game before moving on to the NBA. With that being said I've decided I owe it to myself to stay another year at Texas A&M. Again, I would like to thank everyone for their support and I know next year will be even better. Gig 'em Aggies!"

Williams was an impact player for the Aggies in 2016-17, and was widely considered to be a first-round pick if he decided to jump to the NBA.

The former four-star recruit averaged nearly 12 points per game and 8.2 rebounds as a freshman. He's also a tenacious defender, averaging 2.5 blocks and recording at least one rejection in every game this season.

"I'm thankful that Robert loves Texas A&M and his teammates," head coach Billy Kennedy said. "I know this was a difficult decision for him and his family. He's not only a special talent but a special young man. His desire to be the best and his trust in us in humbling. I can't wait for next season!"
