Oregon's Dorsey, Brooks make incredible tag team vs. Rhode Island

There's no word on what they use for a name, but Oregon's Dillon Brooks and Tyler Dorsey showed Sunday that there's no better tag team in college basketball right now.

The Ducks duo provided all the offensive firepower needed against Rhode Island, combining for 44 of the team's 75 total points as Oregon came from behind to get the 75-72 win and head to the Sweet 16.

Brooks is the team's leading scorer at 16.3 points per game, with Dorsey right behind at 13.6, but it's the latter who shone against the stingy Rams defense.

For the fifth straight game, the sophomore topped the 20-point plateau, finishing a sparkling 9-of-10 from the field for 27 points in the win. Combine that performance with his 24-point showing in the opening-round win against Iona, and Dorsey is averaging 25.5 points per game on absurd 78 percent shooting from the field and 66.6 percent from 3-point range.

He supplied the dagger with this deep triple in the final minute to give Oregon a three-point lead that stood as the winning margin.

On the season, Dorsey is averaging 45 percent from the field and 39 percent from beyond the arc. It's an understatement to say the Los Angeles native is peaking at the right time.

Brooks is usually the star earning offensive accolades for the Ducks, and while the Canadian didn't have his best shooting night Sunday, he was still an offensive force. The junior only hit seven of his 20 shots from the floor, but added seven rebounds. He sunk a massive 3-ball late in the second half to give Oregon its first lead in almost 20 minutes of game action.

Brooks' most important contribution of the night arguably came at the defensive end. With the score tied at 72 and 1:38 remaining, Brooks took a controversial charge on Rams star E.C. Matthews to flip possession back to the Ducks.

There's no doubt that Oregon misses the presence of third-leading scorer Chris Boucher, who is out for the season with a torn ACL, but the Ducks appear to be managing.

Next on their schedule is hot-shooting Michigan after the Wolverines knocked off No. 2 Louisville earlier Sunday. The Ducks will need a strong offensive effort to keep up with John Beilein's outfit, but with Dorsey and Brooks carrying the load, don't be shocked to see Oregon storm in the Elite Eight.
