Report: Peterson, Charles scheduled to visit Seahawks

Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

The Seattle Seahawks are hosting two of the best running backs of their generation over the next few days.

The team will host Adrian Peterson and Jamaal Charles during the next week, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports.

Latavius Murray is also scheduled to visit, while Eddie Lacy already completed his meeting with the team.

Peterson suffered a torn meniscus during a Week 2 contest against the Green Bay Packers, truncating his 2016 season. During the 2015 campaign, he rushed for a league-best 1,485 yards. The Minnesota Vikings elected against exercising their option on Peterson's contract on Feb. 28, rendering the five-time All-Pro a free agent.

Charles suffered season-ending knee injuries in 2015 and 2016, halting the trajectory of his career. The running back last completed a full season in 2012. He was released by the Chiefs on Feb. 28, after spending the first nine seasons of his career with the team, earning four Pro Bowl selections.
