Here are the fantasy implications of QB Mike Glennon signing with the Chicago Bears to be a starter:

Glennon played in a total of 21 games over three seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He completed 374 of 630 attempts (59.4 percent) for 4,100 yards and 30 touchdowns. He now heads into the 2017 NFL season as the starting quarterback for the Bears.

The Bears could've seen and learned more about Glennon to warrant such a commitment than fantasy owners have been able to learn. As a man with a starting job, owners will need to pay attention to him, regardless of format.

What he'll be dealing with

As the Bears failed in their effort to retain free-agent WR Alshon Jeffery, Glennon's 2017 prospects are seriously bleak. With Jeffery limited to parts of just 12 games in 2016, here's how the receiving corps fared without him under QBs Jay Cutler, Brian Hoyer and Matt Barkley:

NAME REC TRGTS YDS TD
Cameron Meredith 66 96 888 4
Zach Miller (TE) 47 65 486 4
Eddie Royal 33 43 369 2
Jordan Howard (RB) 29 50 298 1
Joshua Bellamy 19 38 282 1

Meredith's emergence with lackluster quarterback play is cause for optimism for Glennon. He totaled 100-plus yards in each of the four games he received at least 10 targets.

Glennon's rookie season in 2013 was his most productive. While WR Vincent Jackson was there to lead the way with 1,224 yards, TE Tim Wright (571) and WR Tiquan Underwood (440) ranked second and third, respectively in receiving yards. With Jeffrey gone, Meredith will likely move into Chicago's WR2 role, giving him some appeal as a WR4 or streaming candidate.

Third-year receiver Kevin White should be viewed as the Bears' No. 1 option, should he able to begin a season at full health. With just four games played to date, Glennon adds onto White's already murky outlook. His status as a high draft pick in 2015 will likely force his price above the range of safety.

Glennon's previous success with Wright also bodes well for Miller's 2017 outlook. A lack of competition for targets will have in consideration as a top-12 tight end.

Replenishing the stream

Glennon is only worth a draft selection in 2QB or best-ball leagues, as he'll begin the year as a bottom-end QB2. Glennon replaces Cutler as a streamable quarterback for those who elect to not prioritize the position in drafts and opt to play matchups throughout the year
