Report: Lions, Bills, Bears showing interest in Cook

Kevin Jairaj / USA TODAY Sports

Free-agent tight end Jared Cook is drawing the interest of two teams in particular on the first day of free agency. NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports the Detroit Lions and Buffalo Bills are the most intrigued parties.

The Chicago Bears have also expressed some interest, Garafolo adds.

Cook signed a one-year contract with the Green Bay Packers last offseason and while he didn't immediately make an impact with his new club, he came on - much like the team did - later in the season. Most of his production came in the final seven games of the regular season, plus the playoffs.

Most notably, Cook made the sideline catch in the divisional playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys that led to the game-winning field goal.

The 29-year-old comes with seven years of experience and is one of the top tight ends available in this year's free agency. Both the Bills and Lions could benefit from another option in the passing game.
