Heat host Cavs in cheapest Miami matchup since LeBron's departure

The luster may be wearing off for LeBron James in South Beach.

The Cavaliers head to Miami for a Saturday night matchup with the Heat, and it will be the cheapest Heat-Cavs game at AmericanAirlines Arena since James re-signed with Cleveland in the summer of 2014.

On TicketIQ, a search engine that compiles ticket data from over 90 percent of the resale market, Heat tickets against the Cavaliers currently average $218. Of the previous four meetings in Miami since 2014, none have averaged below $260 on TicketIQ.

Saturday’s prices pale in comparison to James’ first game back to Miami on Christmas Day 2014. That game, resulting in a 10-point Heat victory, averaged a $446 ticket and $104 get-in price.

The two teams will be right back at it in Cleveland on Monday night in the second part of a home-and-home series. It will be considerably cheaper to attend that game, with tickets averaging $97 and starting from as low as $29 each on TicketIQ.

Both the Heat and Cavaliers will be playing their second game in as many nights entering Saturday. The Heat will be in Orlando on Friday while the reigning NBA champions take on the Hawks at Philips Arena.
