Report: Lane Kiffin to add father Monte to FAU staff

Lane and Monte Kiffin appear to be joining forces once again.

Lane is expected to add his father Monte to the FAU coaching staff, according to Alex Marvez of the Sporting News. It's unclear at this time what his specific role will be, Marvez adds.

The pair have worked together before while Lane was the head coach of Tennessee and USC. Monte has developed a reputation as one football's sharpest defensive minds and is one of the pioneers of the "Tampa 2" defense.

The 77-year-old served as a defensive assistant for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2016.
