AC Milan is prepared to spend £27 million for Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas, according to The Telegraph's Matt Law.

Although the Spain international does not wish to leave Stamford Bridge, the Blues could recoup the money it spent to sign Fabregas from Barcelona in 2014.

Milan had reportedly expressed interest in a deadline-day move for the player during the last summer window, but manager Vincenzo Montella said in October he was looking for a midfielder with different "attributes."

That position may have changed, especially as the club nears the completion of a €720-million (£627-million) Chinese takeover. That deal is expected to close by the end of the week, and give the Rossoneri the funds to sign world-renowned players.

Law believes Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is also "keeping a close eye" on Fabregas, whom the Portuguese managed briefly at Stamford Bridge.

The 29-year-old is not a regular starter for Antonio Conte's side, although he scored a goal and an assist last weekend to mark his 300th Premier League outing.
