Report: James Conner gets clean scan ahead of combine

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Former Pittsburgh running back James Conner reportedly received a clean bill of health as he prepares to embark on his voyage to the NFL.

Conner, who battled Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 2015, had a clean scan on Friday, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter, and will participate in the scouting combine, set to begin Feb. 28.

Conner was declared cancer-free in the summer and returned to play his junior year for the Panthers, compiling 1,092 rushing yards, 16 touchdowns, 302 receiving yards, and four receiving scores in 2016.

He's projected to be a late-round draft pick.
