Report: Bulls open to trading McDermott; Thunder interested
The Chicago Bulls are one of the teams to watch on NBA trade deadline day, and not just because of questions surrounding Jimmy Butler's future. The team is open to trading swingman Doug McDermott, league sources tell ESPN's Marc Stein, and additional reports suggest they're willing to move Nikola Mirotic and Taj Gibson as well.
The Oklahoma City Thunder, already rumored to be targeting Gibson, also have interest in McDermott, sources tell ESPN's Royce Young.
The Bulls may be interested in a major change in direction, which would certainly be the case if they trade franchise player Butler. While Mirotic and Gibson are restricted and unrestricted free agents, respectively, McDermott is still on his entry-level contract.
The third-year pro has come on strong since January, and is averaging 10.2 points on 37.6 percent 3-point shooting this season.
