Bennett fires back at fans: Don't call me greedy for wanting to get paid

Don't talk to Martellus Bennett about his money - and don't expect him to accept a bargain deal in free agency to remain with the New England Patriots.

The impending free-agent tight end posted a series of tweets Thursday in which he fired back at fans suggesting he's greedy for not offering to give the Patriots a discount.

The 29-year-old caught 55 passes for 701 yards and seven touchdowns this season and helped the Patriots overcome the loss of Rob Gronkowski en route to a Super Bowl title. Bennett will likely be a target for many teams in free agency, with NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reporting this week there is a "real possibility" Bennett will be priced out of New England despite the two parties' "mutually respectful relationship."
