Adam Lallana has inked a "long-term contract" at Liverpool after playing a starring role in the Reds midfield this term.

No details of the duration or finances were disclosed by the Merseyside outfit, but reports state that the England international will take home between £110,000-£150,000 a week for three-to-four years.

"I'm very proud and feel quite humbled by the show of faith from the club and the manager in particular," said Lallana.

"Signing for a club like Liverpool is obviously a big thing - but to re-sign shows you've obviously contributed enough that the people who make the decisions want you to stay longer.

"This is a really good place to be at the moment and, for a player who wants to be part of something special, I can't think of a better club to commit your future to."

Lallana, 28, was signed by Liverpool from Southampton in 2014 for around £25 million and put in adequate performances before his showings improved drastically following manager Jurgen Klopp's arrival in Oct. 2015. This season, Lallana has fashioned seven goals and seven assists in 23 Premier League appearances, and has shown his versatility in cropping up in both the midfield and in the fluid, three-pronged attack.

Until a slump of form in January, Liverpool looked to be mounting a title challenge but is now situated 11 points short of table-topper Chelsea. With no commitments left in the other domestic competitions or on the continental scene, Klopp's focus is beginning to rest solely with securing a top-four finish.

"We have a brilliant squad of players who are only going to get better the longer we are together. We have a world-class manager and coaching staff," Lallana added.

"And because it's Liverpool there is that added X-factor of the supporters and what success would mean to them when we achieve it here. I'm just delighted that I'm going to be part of it for even longer."
